In the year 2015 the legend OM Puri was invited to take part in the kasauli lit fest held at the kasauli club. With his shirt tucked out and slippers on his feet, Om Puri came to take part in the lit fest. He was not allowed to enter the club as dress code is being followed since the Britisher era. Om Puri was stunned with this and replied ” I have spent my life in slippers like a fakeer and now you want me to wear leather shoes”. Later he came back dressed formally to take part.

Due to tense situation on the indo Pak border , writers from Pakistan did not get permission to attend the lit fest which starts today. Rahul , son of khushwant singh said that the Pak writers had shown keen interest to attend the lit fest and had agreed to come but Pak embassy didn’t grant them permission. Homage would be payed to the soldiers who lost their lives in uri attack . Today the 14th Octobseth, Suhail Seth, Geetanjali chandi, Montek singh Ahluwalia , Pawan Verma would discuss about Khushwant Singh. Kasauli lit fest started by Khushwant Singh 5 yrs ago is to take place on the 14th of October 2016. This was started by khushwant singh in order to bridge the gap between India and Pakistan. This writer had an emotional attachment with pakistan. Like every year this year again invitation has been sent to writers in Pakistan in spite of the tense situation between the two countries.
