Tisca chopra was born in in Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh into a family of educationists. She graduated from Apeejay School, Noida, where her father was principal. Later she studied English literature at Hindu College, University of Delhi.In an interview given to a local newspaper she recalled her childhood memories of kasauli.

The world famous baba balak nath temple is very popular amongst the devotees. It is visited by devotees wishing for a child especially a baby boy.
On April 20th 1857 the famous revolt of 1857 was triggered from one of the safest base of the britishers in kasauli.
