Wild monitor lizzard of kasauli.

Kasauli is known for its  wild life , but the tourist very rarely get to see it. The monitor lizzard is one of them. It is a very shy creature,  but when it comes to self defence it can chop a person’s leg in one go with its tail. In olden days it was used by thieves to scale tall buildings as the monitor lizzards claws have firm grip.  The monitor lizard was also used by  Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj  to climb the sides of a fort’s wall.

100yrs old steam engine breaks down.

The heritage steam engine breaks down on the kalka Shimla rail track. It was used to give rides to the tourists on the Shimla track. Recently it was sent to amritsar for repair and was being driven to shimla on the heritage rail track. However the engine refused to climb the uphill track. Again it would undergo repair, so the tourists would have to wait for the steam engine ride.
